BLUE SAFARI
Blue Safari Submarine has started its
activities in September 1998 and is the only operator of
real submarines based in the
Indian Ocean.
In the beginning, Patrick THEROND and Luc BILLARD, two
french sea passionates and former participants of the
fabulous around the World Sailing Race (Whitbread
1976-1977), decided in 1995 to start a new venture of
leisure submarine.
With the help of two other friends, they raised the
necessary funds to acquire their first submarine with a
capacity of 6 passengers plus pilot, the Blue Safari 600
and to finance the installation of their first base.
It was an immediate success and 6 months afterwards,
Blue Safari invested in a second submarine with a 10
passengers plus pilot capacity.
After obtaining the approval from the Classification
Organisation concerning maritime safety,
Blue Safari has officially launched on the 15th November
2005, a new activity unique in the World, the two-seater
sub-scooters, of which they hold the invention and
patent rights.
Up to now, more than 12,000 divings have been perfomed
by Blue Safari Submarine and over
150 000 customers of all ages (2 to 91 years old) have
experienced with delight Blue Safari adventure, whether
they are individuals, families or groups.
40 persons are employed daily to share their
passion with the customers and make them experience the
wonderful adventure of Blue Safari. |
